A Texas Tragicomedy, the action whirls around one disastrous Memorial Day weekend at the Beckle cabin in the Texas hill country. Aubry, his four daughters and Great Aunt Tammy gather there for the first time since Mrs. Beckle's death. Nothing goes right as comedy and tragedy come together and the Beckles must pull together or the family will self destruct. They learn their strongest ally is their most alienated member.

 

Christopher Durang’s Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge

A playful look at the perennial Dickens Christmas classic about mean Ebenezer Scrooge. In this giddy version, the Ghost’s magic is off, and Scrooge and the Ghost keep showing up at Bob Cratchit’s house way too early. Mrs. Bob Cratchit – a long suffering saint –is not at all happy about poverty, hunger and suffering. Enjoy the wild ride as Mrs. Cratchit unwittingly sabotages the efforts to teach Scrooge the so-called true meaning of Christmas.

 

Lawrence Roman’s Make Me A Match

This clever and observant comedy about the perils of modern day matchmaking is guaranteed to leave you laughing. Stephanie Mills is a rich, demanding corporate executive used to having her way. Unmarried, hearing the tick of the biological clock, she would like to have a husband. She reluctantly hires Robin McFee, a matchmaker who happens to be male, brash and used to having his way! Sex, love and laughter entwine leading to hilarious if disastrous results.

 

Sam Shepard's La Turista


Show Dates: April 3-5, 10-12, 17-19

Audition Dates: February 11-12 at 7pm

La Turista, is at heart, theatre of the absurd. Propelled by two main characters, Salem and Kent whose propensity to escape reality is matched by their willingness to believe the truth of their fantasy world. Set in Mexico and the United States, it is a comedy that contends with issues of cultural identity, globalization, religious tolerance and our perception of all things foreign. La Turista, written and produced in 1966, won the Obie Award for Distinguished Play.

 

Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield’s The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)


Show Dates: June 12-14, 19-21, 26-28

Audition Dates: April 7-8 at 7:30pm

From the opening fight scene in Romeo and Juliet to the grand finale of what some consider Shakespeare’s “most important play” this show is a high-speed roller-coaster type condensation of all of Shakespeare's plays. It is a fun filled evening with some audience participation for those who love (and not so much) Shakespeare.


Robert Louis Stevenson’s Adventures Of Treasure Island


Show Dates: September 11-13, 18-20, 25-27

Audition Dates: July 21 & 22 at 7:30pm

Excitement runs high in this adaptation of the favorite childhood adventure story. A thrilling tale of pirates, treasure maps, mutiny on the high seas and pieces of eight follows Jim Hawkins, an ordinary youth drawn into a dangerous race for buried treasure against the treacherous Long John Silver. As the author himself wrote, “If this don’t fetch the kids, why, they have gone rotten since my day.”
