Announcing the "Keep Tragedy Behind Us" Campaign
StageCenter has faced many major problems in the past- our first home being condemned and the roof of our second home (Palace Theatre) collapsing, forcing us to move and lose many of our costumes, lights, and set pieces in the process to name just a few- but not since we first started up in 1964 have we had such a dire need for donations. The pandemic has been hard on everyone and arts organizations seem to be suffering the most, even though various forms of art (books, movies, tv, etc.) are what people are turning to right now to keep them going. We have taken steps to provide a safe-as-possible theatre experience for everyone, but we had to cut our seating in half and we know that many just aren't able to get out to see our shows right now, so we are struggling to make ends meet, and if this pattern doesn't change, things could get very bad for us. That's why we are starting the "Keep Tragedy Behind Us" donation campaign. The campaign name is based on the comedy and tragedy masks that represent theatre. When you donate $10 or more, we will put your name up on our wall to thank you for supporting us and helping to keep the arts alive in the Brazos Valley. If you want to keep your donation anonymous, you have that option too! Please consider helping us through this difficult time!
